Rise Above All 2024’ a day long youth fest inspired thousands of youth including students of Grameenphone Academy!

Grameenphone, as a powered by sponsor, collaborated with Don Sumdany Facilitation & Consultanc to organize the most vibrant youth fest of the country ‘Rise above all 2024’ that took place on November 16 at the KIB Complex, Dhaka.
In the day-long event, there was a dedicated hour for Grameenphone Academy where some of the top leaders of Grameenphone engaged and encouraged the students with their life experiences and thought provoking speech.
The Legendary Duo Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone & Shezad Munim, Former MD of BATB shared their journey of leadership in multinational companies and discussed their experiences navigating challenges in the business world.
In his discussion, GP CEO put emphasis on pursuing a sustainable leadership journey upholding honesty, transparency, and originality – characteristics which make one invaluable as an individual not easy to replicate and replace. Both the leaders focused on hard work as a means of overcoming obstacles in their way as a key to the journey of building their career.
“The more you increase your elasticity, be resilient and learn, the more you are close to success” said Sayeda Tahya Hossain, Chief Human Resources Officer of Grameenphone, as she encouraged the youth to be open to lifelong learning and growth.
Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Head of Communication at Grameenphone, urged the youth to dream big with a fearless soul. He added, “Without mental strength and a positive attitude, you can't succeed."
Grameenphone Academy collaborated with the event to encourage youth to go beyond to upskill and network with the best minds in the country. The success of **the program **is a testament to the growing enthusiasm for events that focus on personal and professional growth.
An impressive lineup of industry leaders, innovators, and thought-provoking speakers joined the event to inspire the audience to rise above challenges and seize opportunities with a positive mindset.

Grameenphone Academy launched Freelancing Factory to expand the opportunity of earning $100K by 100+ students!

In Bangladesh, every year 2 Mn youth are added to the job market while only a handful of jobs are on offer. Thus, it is hardly possible to match employment opportunity for this huge flock. Other side of the story, the biggest freelancing platform Upwork is ready with 10 Mn jobs to offer and worldwide, the average earning of a freelancer per hour is $21. If we can ensure the skills match, Bangladesh can be the biggest supplier in the global freelancing market, and this can become our national economic success story!
With this objective, Grameenphone Academy has launched ‘Freelancing Factory’ with an ambition to make a pool of 106 students to earn $1000 in 8 months through a mentor-led upskilling program. Hans Martin, Chief Corporate Officer of Grameenphone, officially kicked off the program and accoladed the diverse cohort with a demography of 40% female and 19% outside of Dhaka. Two young mentors, Yasin Ahmed and Muntasir Hasnat, have taken the challenge to guide the selected students to make this pilot project a success. The students will learn UX/UI and Web development through WordPress through 64 online class during this time in two (2) separate batches.
Two students from audience panel shared their experience and expectation which are testimonials for the validity of the initiative. Tamanna, resident of Borguna-Amtoli, came to Dhaka just to join the session. She completed a number courses from different platforms including Grameenphone Academy but she is in need of hand holding instructions to implement the learning to earning. Tamanna is one of the qualified students, out 600+ applicants, who passed the two level assessments.
Ragib Raiyan; BSc Engineer from Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Trishal-Mymensingh; with hearing challenge expressed his hope and confidence to start earning through this guided learning program. Sayeda Tahya Hossain, our Chief Human Resources Officer, motivated the participants and encouraged them to learn skills and look for opportunity to apply them in a wider domain. Grameenphone CEO, Yasir Azman, inspired the crowd with the story of Zero to one, encouraging the youth to break the zero and start their earning journey. Overwhelmed to see and hear the stories of the enthusiastic youth, our CEO also expressed his desire of being a freelancer if he got the opportunity to restart his career!
The following workshop was conducted by both the instructors who shared the curriculum and the detailed learning plans for the next Eight months. Students were inquisitive expressing their solid expectation from the program.
Head of Talent Management, Rifaqat Rasheed, and Farhana Islam, Head of ESG along with their team also joined the session and expressed their intention to make the program scalable to create a rolling and sustainable impact to the economy of Bangladesh.

CEO's magic at SUST

With a passionate goal of preparing youth for 'Future Ready Bangladesh', Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman took a masterclass for SUST students at the campus premise. Grameenphone Academy cocreated the session along with Sylhet Circle and 'Pothe pothe' team.
The interactive session was touched on diverse influence of AI, sustainable leadership and the empathetic role of both AI and a Leader. His remarkable tips include - 'Follow your passion, Be genuine' and his recent lesson from a young influencer from Bolorumpur 'Nobody is a mistake. Everyone has a role to play'
Honorable Vice Chancellor Farid Uddin Ahmed along with his faculty members joined the session to welcome GP and encourage the young minds to learn.
Chief Digital Officer Solaiman Alam joined the session and exchange his views with the university management. The sylhet circle business head Taufiq Jahan along with his team were actively into the session to strengthen the bridge with academia and industry. 

'One hour UX' at Academy Stage

In today’s industry of rapidly growing interfaces, the adoption of user experience streamlines any form of human/device interaction.
GP Academy hosted a masterclass on “One Hour UX” where around 300 inquisitive minds, including a group of 44 CSE students from DU, attended to delve into the UX, from understanding user psychology to mastering the art of prototyping. Every facet of UX was  explored within this one-hour e-certified training session by Md Ashraful Alam, Lead UX Designer of MyGP.
The event kicked off with an inauguration speech by Solaiman Alam, Chief Digital Officer, who shared his impactful journey through digital experiences.
Later on, amidst the buzz of the crowd, AppCity took the stage to shed light on gaining hands-on user experience to develop their ideas into practical apps.

14 Next Business Leaders (NBL) of Grameenphone hit the stage and had a roller coaster journey with 350+ students crossing the rough patches of CV writing, Case Cracking, FGD, Roleplay, interview hacks and what not
Chief Information Officer of Grameenphone, Niranjan Srinivasan, inaugurated the event and shared his insightful experiences as a beginner who started his career 22 years back.
Students from different universities included University of Dhaka, IUB, IUT, Faridpur Engineering College, Pabna University of Science & Technology, Jagannath University, BUP, Badrunnessa College etc.
